  1. Padre Island National Seashore

Padre Island National Seashore features multiple camping locations to make a great day for your family! If you are interested in pitching a tent at this great seashore, ensure you get a beach permit from one of the kiosks located at the entrance of each campsite.

At Padre Island National Seashore, you have many campsites options including; Malaquite campground, North Beach, South Beach, Bird Island Basin Campground, or Yarborough Pass.

If you are going to camp here, remember campsites are available, but only on a first-come, first-serve basis. Campsites are available year-round and remember you can’t make reservations prior to arriving at Padre Island National Seashore. To be on the safe side, call the management just to make sure there is enough space for you.

Camping at Padre Island National Seashore will require you to plan well before showing up. They don’t offer food, and the nearest amenities are about 12 miles away. So, ensure you bring your own firewood, fishing licenses, ice, and gas. You will not get any of these at the shore.

  1. Mustang Island State Park

Mustang Island State Park offers you two options for campsites, including primitive campsites located right on the sandy beach, and water and electric campsites behind the dunes.

Amenities available depend on your camping site. At the water-electric campsites, amenities include picnic tables, outdoor grills, shade shelters, and nearby restrooms and showers.

At primate campsites, you are allowed to use ground fires and to enjoy the bathhouse at the park. So, if you are a lover of surfing, this is the ideal camping location you can ever think of. Water, cold-rinse showers, as well as, portable toilets are also available along the beach. Are you looking for more primitive camping? Mustang Island State Park is the place to bring your family and enjoy your camping holiday! Ensure you come prepared with enough shade and sunscreen if you want to settle at the beach.

Located at Padre Island, Padre Balli County Park offers your family great comfort and all they need to have fun. It is open year-round. This park has 54 sites with water and electric hookups for reservations and trailers. Do you prefer spending your nights in a tent? The park offers a large area you can use to pitch your tents, as well as water and electric hookups which are centrally located.

Amenities include restrooms and hot showers you can use to cleanse yourself when you are done at the beach. But the showers are pay-per-use, so, get prepared to spend some cash.

Padre Balli County Park comprises of a 1,240-foot fishing pier with bait and tackles you can purchase. There is also a restaurant you can use should you need to take a break from your camping activities.

Goose Island State Park

Goose Island State Park is located along St. Charles Bay and Aranas Bay. It has campsites both along the Bay and beneath trees, with water and electricity, as well as restrooms with showers. There are also walk-in-sites, but they don’t have electricity.
