I did some research to gather stats about butterflies from 15 different sources and found:
- They weigh less than 1 gram.
- The Monarch population has declined 97%.
- There are 17500 species of butterflies in the world.
- The can fly up to 37 mph and cover 100 miles per day.

- The largest has 25 cm wingspan, the average is 30 mm.
- They can not fly if air temp is less than 55 degrees F.
- 450 species are in decline.
